Train Travel

imageimageEven though these cards were done a few months back, I thought they would be appropriate for today’s post. My husband has Alzheimer’s. I thought it would be a good idea to take him to Maryland to see his kids. I was concerned about air travel, because I was unable to get a straight flight and the possibility of losing him in the airport was too scary. Driving him up in the car, too nerve-wracking! So, the other alternative was the auto-train.  So, here is some good advice. Unless you are young and/or can handle sleeping in a seat overnight, upgrade to a sleeper! Luckily the train wasn’t full and we each were able to have a double seat, but still was only comfortable enough to get a couple hours sleep here and there. We will be in a sleeper on our trip back.

Can someone get lost on a train? You bet they can! My husband is living proof! He went to the bathroom. It was all of 15 feet away from our seats. After about 10 minutes, I went to see what was wrong. No husband to be found, anywhere. Went back to my seat to think what is my next step? It wasn’t but 30 seconds later, I hear my name paged to report to the lounge car. That is 6 cars away and on the upper level! So, now I am famous! Walked thru and all the passengers say…”oh, glad they found you!” Ha, I wasn’t the lost one! Out of my mind, maybe! But, not lost!
